Why learn from Heather?

"I never recieved formal, professional instruction when learning to paddle, which made me "scared" all the time because I didn't know the environment very well and I was fearful of moving water and it's dynamic, continuous flow.  Since becoming an ACA certified instructor in 2005, I have taught with some of the best instructors in the world.  I have come to find ways to teach skills, while focusing on "fun" and success, instead of "fear" and lack of control.  I have found ways to progress your skills quicker and instill confidence on the water.

Since I began teaching, I have been noticing the difference between the way women learn and process, compared to men.  It is from these experiences that I promote women-specific clinics.
